Cycling is one of the fastest growing and most popular sports right now. By joining The Ox Mountains Cycling Club you are joining a community where not only will you be insured while you cycle, you will also enjoy the social and physical benefits of the sport.
Membership offers a great introduction to the sport of cycling and participating in leisure events is a fun and social way of keeping fit and seeing some beautiful parts of the country.
Through our affiliation to Cycling Ireland you will be covered for personal injury, and third party damage/liability. This cover extends to you while out training or cycling on your own and covers you while partaking in organized events.
Cycling is a non weight bearing sport, which means it is easy on the joints, and recommended by many specialists as a good sport for rehabilitation of injury or sickness while improving your overall well being.
Cycling Ireland encourages learning and development in its affiliated clubs, and runs a series of Coaching Qualifications. The Ox Mountains Cycling Club has signed up to the CI Coaching Programme and will be developing its own CI trained coaches to help you learn the vital skills and training methods necessary to improve as a cyclist.
The club offers weekly cycling spins of varying distances organized from mid-week to weekend and tailored according to cyclists own ability.
The Club will be holding organized open licensed events during the year and entry fees for these events will be discounted to its members.
These events are registered on the Cycling Ireland 2015 calendar of events.
Our location in the Ox Mountains will also offer members the opportunity to partake in off-road mountain biking, an additional activity in our plans for the the sport of cycling in the general area.
